You need to release the catches. Four finish nails will do it, but I forget if I used 8 or 10 penny.
Just push the nails in with your finger, then pull from the rear with your hand in the SID hole.
The only advantge to the real tools is that they lock into place and you can pull from the front without removing the SID. If you know how easy the SID comes out, you don't need the tools.
