Just bought a 1999 9-3 with 68k miles a few days ago and have already learned a great deal on these forums. I love love love driving this car first of all and the car seems like it's in pretty good shape. I've been reading about the PCV upgrade and related oil sludge issues in these cars. I know for a fact that the previous owners haven't been using synthetic oil. Should I use some sort of engine cleaner when I take it in for a change this week? I'm wary of that stuff and what it might do to the seals. Will resuming a normal schedule of full synthetic changes be enough?
