If it's the gland nut that's loose, I have heard of some people getting a large spanner or pipe wrench between the spring coils tighten (I have never tried this personally).
If it's the top nut that's loose, you need to either make your own special tool that allows you to get a small socket to hold the strut shaft while you tighten the nut down - I THINK it was 18 lbs ft. I used a special socket that looks like an O2 sensor socket like the one in the link (don't remember what size). I needed two (their pretty cheap anyway) as the nut for the stock Boge and the Sensa Tracs that I replaced them with were different sizes. If you use that type of socket, you have to make a small adjustment on your torque setting (google "torque adapter calculator" and there are tons' of online calculators) - though it really isn't much of a difference because of the short length compared to most torque wrenches.
