the engine? i.e. disconnect DI cassette and fuel pump fuse and crank?
I've asked this same question before, a long time ago and was told it is overkill since before you do an oil chance you drive the car, and it's pretty well lubed up....so nothing is running "dry." I think this is an overstatement. Everything IS pretty well lubed if you drive the car 2-3 miles before the change.
I don't think 3 seconds until you get normal oil pressure is damaging in any way to the engine, especially given that it is already warm and as been driven very recently.
Do you, do this though? Just curious. I always try and do the best for my car, in terms of longevity but I am not so sure this is necessary at all.
