Also, in Dmitry's write-up you'll see he also upgraded to the 9-3 tranny.
I would assume this might be the fastest and cheapest way to go. Assuming you find a place close by that has a tranny...which means that they also have the hydraulics.
Might as well also put in a new clutch, updated shift linkage, new axles, engine mounts, turbo, exhaust, oil pump, ac parts, radiator, brake lines, head gasket, valve cover gasket with new head bolts, new battery and cables, starter, alternator, serp belt with short belt mod...
or go with Pete's advice, but skip the conversion and just drink the beer.
good luck. I think the hardest part is installing the damn pedals in the footwell.
