Release bearing, fork, lever Posted by crawdad [Email] (#1867) [Profile/Gallery] (more from crawdad) on Sun, 27 Feb 2011 22:17:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
In the WIS it says, "Loosely fit the screw on the fork and turn the fork so that the play between bearing and clutch case disappears."
AND
"IMPORTANT: The screw on the fork should be tightened with the clutch lever "fixed" i.e. press on the de-clutching bearing at the same time as the clutching lever is loaded."
What do they mean?
I just installed the bearing and put the screw through the cutout in the lever shaft. Is that good enough?
Also, the best grease for this area? I've seen posts about molybdenum disulphide, cv grease, and silver grease. Does it matter? Thanks!
