I don't take it all the way out of the car, but it would make it easier if it was in a vice I suppose. I only replace the broken shear pin at the u-joint. The 900s were easy, but the 9-3s are very difficult to remove. They seem to want you to have the tonneau open. As long as you can get to the bolts for the drive unit and as long as the drive unit matches the position of the tonneau going back together it should be ok.
