Bad bottom end -- fixable

I'm looking for a new car and I came across this "
I'm selling my 2000 9-3 turbo with a bad bottom end. the oil return got clogged which caused one of the rod bearings to spin. Everything else on the car is in great shape and it only has 84,000 miles on it."
It's listed for $1200, so it's discounted given the condition, but I can't get an idea from the boards of how bad a situation this is. Sounds like some kind of sludge issue manifestation. Is it worth even considering this? I definitely could not do the work myself.
