because most first-owners are not as fastidious as I am: the week after I bought the 9-5 new, I reprogrammed the car to start with ACC in "Econ" mode. AC compressor is usually one of the shortest-lived major components in a car, often due to user neglect, such as turning off the car to make a quick run-in to a store, then restart the car within a few minutes with AC in full blast before the compressor has time to discharge existing pressure from the previous load cycle. Having full-power AC used to be one of the major reasons why I bought new cars instead of used ones.
