Highly suggest using a Bosch rebuilt unit, not one of the generic Worldwide/Duralast units. Have seen far too many fail within the first 24 months of service from other shops the owners had previously installed. Theres a reason they come with a lifetime warranty.
Check your VIN for the alt output. Half year '00s came with 90s the other half, 130amp units. (VIN# Y2018001 on is 130amp) Regardless the 90s run really hard (high duty cycle) with a full load on a 9-3.
Also suggest using a Bosch 140amp unit from later OG9-3 and '02+ 9-5s. See far fewer failures of these. The extra 10amp output is not to write about, but the case design allows for much better cooling. Plus, the 140amp units tend to be cheaper in cost.
