I don't work with performance enhancements. If you pull the valve cover and line up the mark on the crank pulley with the mark on the timing cover the notches on the cams that face towards the back of the engine should line up pretty close. They don't line up perfectly on an older engine, but if you are off a tooth it should be obvious. Then you need to check the marks on the cam sprockets on the side towards the timing cover. Count the chain rollers between the lines on the sprockets. You need 15 rollers between the marks.
