I've got new cylinder head bolts coming and will insatll them, one at a time on a cold engine. Obviously I want to do it as right as I can and hopefully resolve my coolant loss problem without replacing the head gasket.
My questions is this: The info page I have from Taliaferro prescribes a two-step process of first torquing to 44#, then turning +90 degrees. That seems to be the concensus here. However, my Haynes manual prescribes a 3-step process: 44#, then 59#, and finally +90 degrees.
Which is correct? And should each bolt be taken through all steps, or should all bolts be taken to step one, followed by all bolts to step two...?
