Story: The gear lever linkage was really loose. While I'm playing with it I spy a large bolt laying down in the engine bay. It took a while to determine where it went but finally I spotted a hole above where the linkage enters the gear case. You would think that it is a mounting bolt for the transmission case. But no. It somehow clamps the linkage so the gearbox won't kick out of gear. Perhaps the transmission experts know what it is called. Anyway after I bolted it back in place, the transmission shifts like a champ. It looks like it leaked transmission fluid around it. How hard is it to change transmission fluid. Redline MTL okay?
