Since I have went through the process, thought an instruction might benefit someone here. (If this has been covered somewhere here disregard).
Bought the car used. (Wanted to be sure that all recall work had been done previously).
Looked up the recalls for my car online. Made a list of recalls and VIN#.
Called disconnected number of Saab USA.
Called GM. (No specific # for Sabb is given on their site).
Chevy division was chosen at random.
Explained situation and waited 25 minutes on hold to be transferred to some other person.
Told this person the situation. Was put on hold again for 15 minutes while he looked up the history.
The history on recall work was in "Code". 3 of the 4 recalls had been completed he thought.
Asked him what the nearest dealer to me was. The nearest dealer was 95 miles away.
Asked him the phone number.
He gave it to me, but said that recall work could not be done at that dealership. That dealership sold only Saabs.
Recall work will be honored in dealerships that sell and service both GM and Saabs.
Asked him where the closest one to me would be.
5-1/2 hour drive.
Good luck folks.
