Steering: Due to no replacement tires being available in the states last July (after I damaged one of the OE Dunlops), I replaced all four with Michelin Pilot MXX3's. The handling improved dramaticly. I run 35lbs in the front and 33 in the rear.
ACC: I find it necessary to turn the compressor ON in cooler weather to minimize fogging of the windows when the ACC turns it off due to low outside temps. You can turn it on or off simply pushing the recirc button.
Engine in sideways: Hey! Mine too! I never noticed that before. Do you suppose we have a couple of the proto-types that were not to be sold to the general public?
Accessories: I have the clear plastic hood protector that I only install for long trips, the additional shelf that goes under the rear parcel tray and the plush white bear with the Saab flight jacket and goggles (the wife named him "SAABastian"). He resides on the folded down rear armrest (when he's not driving).
Comments/ complaints: Yes, it's different than my '85 Turbo and '88 SPG and, I too missed that distinctive exhaust note, in the beginning (some guys are replacing the center muffler with a straight piece of pipe), but after driving it from PA to CO for the '99 SOC, I've become accustomed to the silence AND power. I grew up in the '60's when, if you had a fast car, you had a LOUD car! Yes, it's more fun to drive, but after bending three rims, I have to drive it a little less hap-hazzardly than I do the C900's.
Can't live without: Four doors (why, why?)
