So did some more diagnosing.
Added oil to lube it, cranked etc. Sounds normal once I put plugs back in, but...no start.
Plugged new pump in and it turns when cranking. Also jumped it and runs that way. Old pump cannot be jumped and I do not get any pressure (checking by unscrewing filter fitting). Measured resistance of new pump and it has some, old one is an open circuit.
Borrowed comp tester at Autozone, but inconclusive since i can't tighten properly. Cylinder head is too deep.
Without fuel, it's not wash down I guess, but somehow I lost compression Sunday morning on all 4.
