I'd say the NPS is on its way out. If you have 10mm, 13mm, and 17mm sockets, you can likely change it out yourself within a couple of hours. I do not suggest just bypassing the NPS as more than ignition is dependent upon it.

Contact Randy or Scott at V&S if you are interested in a used one (website below), and let them know you're looking for an NPS for your car

There is information to bypass this on another forum do a Google search for 'Neutral Safety Switch Bypass (new method)', but I strongly suggest against this, in favor of a proper repair
