Ok, so I measured battery voltage.
12.3V with the car off.
Turned car on.
11.8V with load pulling on the battery. So it seems like the battery is decent, and the alternator system isn't helping charge things. So is it the alternator for sure, or could it be the voltage regulator or something else in the system?
And the deep question - can I drive it 100 miles if I minimize the battery drains? I can drive home during daylight tomorrow in a caravan with additional cars if I need a ride. So I can pull headlight fuse, run no stereo, no air, etc.
Does the battery have enough juice that I could run for 2 hours on the highway? Friend has a battery charger, I can make sure it's 'topped off' before I go.
