Thank you MC. I put a vacuum on the new slave and it holds vacuum. Tried the same thing on the one in the car by pulling the flex hose fitting and it starts leaking at about 5" of vacuum. The last few inches of pedal travel must pull the slave back from the throwout bearing and air is entering through the slave seals. Supreme bummer. I REALLY didn't want to have to replace it.
