My daughter had a similar failure on her 2000 with the HOT engine, 202K miles at the time. Crank seal was leaking (we were planning on replacing) and then the oil pump seal blew. She got the flashing lights and the whole array of warnings. And she drove a few hundred yards at about 20 mph /1500 rpm with the oil light on to get safely off the road. There was still oil in the engine when she stopped the car and some of it came out the front seal and wound up on the ground under the car.
Car towed to indy, seal and pump replaced. New oil/filter added. That was probably 5000 miles ago. Car is driven daily, no weird noises, runs fine. So we got lucky, I guess.
So if you change the front seal, the oil pump o-ring (or whole pump), and put in new oil, you may be fine. If you hear any knocking then look at doing the rod bearings.
