Overnight depression of clutch pedal worked AGAIN! Posted by ryan [Email] (#2222) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ryan) on Thu, 24 Apr 2014 08:59:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had used this trick a while back when I had accidentally introduced some air into my clutch hydraulics and was unable to get it out... and it somehow worked amazingly well. Overnight it took it from being undriveable (couldn't fully disengage) to having near perfect pedal feel. I'm thinking that the pressure pushes the air into solution with the brake fluid, or part(s) of the system are not entirely air tight, and the air manages to bleed out of these points.
I just used this again last night because after replacing my clutch I couldn't get all of the air out of the system. It worked perfectly once again. Where I would start to get clutch engagement just a fraction of an inch off the floor, it's now happening about halfway through the pedal travel.
Regardless of whether it doesn't make sense to you, if you're in a similar situation, TRY IT!
