Front crank seal is leaking, valve cover leaking, maybe an oil leak at the turbo too. Mechanic gave an estimate of $266 to replace the crank seal. When I asked if that included the o-ring at the oil pump, he said no, not required and that would be huge money, maybe $1200 (not a hard estimate, just talking off the top of his head).
He said in his admitted limited Saab experience, I could expect the turbo to starting leaking bad, which would deteriate the hose and my best bet is to call it quits on this one and cash out now.
I wanted to keep it around another year so the teenagers can learn how to drive a stick but don't like the oil spots on the driveway. But I'm questioning even putting another $266 in it at this point. How difficult is replacing that crank seal? I don't have a puller for the pulley...
Thanks in advance!
