Yes, if the fault is intermittent, or goes away, the check engine light will go out, seems to take about 10 minutes of normal operation. I seem to recall someone posting that the use of platinum plugs tripped the check engine light. They might have had to go to the dealer to have it reset.
If you still have the platinums in there, you might want to yank 'em out and replace with NGK's per the owners manual.
