ACC Cabin Temperature Sensor

Hello. I have done research on this site and other sites and can't seem to figure out my answer. I noticed the ACC Cabin Temperature Sensor's fan continuing to run after the engine is shut off and key removed. I have learned in an online forum that the sensors fan can run for 4 minutes after the key is removed. It is running more than 4 mins after ( I will time it next time I do this). Has anyone had this problem and/or know how to fix it. I pull the ACC fuse and thus got the ACC startup test which had no error messages. I did hook up a used sensor from the junkyard and received the 02 - B1350 - Cabin Temp Sensor - Open circuit or short to battery or short to ground error.
Does anyone know if my original sensor continues to run beyond the 4 mins and is not presenting an error code, if a new sensor would solve it? or could it be more involved?
I have no idea if this helped cause the problem, but I noticed this from the noise it was making (resolved the noise) and it running just after I had hammered a new leather knob on the stick shift with a mallet. I did not hit the sensor, but perhaps a wire didn't like that vibration somewhere? I have no idea but thought I would mention the coincidence of it happening just after that.
Thanks ahead of time for your thoughts on this.
