Thanks Crawdad-
Brake fluid level is good. I do get a drip at the bottom of the trans that I've attributed to a leaking clutch slave but I don't have to refill very often, I top up maybe every 6 months.
The (NLA) vacuum line with the check valve from the booster goes to a fitting on the intake manifold. That fitting has been a bit loose since I've owned the car but not too bad. There don't appear to be any cracks in the vacuum line. Can't say if the check valve is functioning but I may try to check that before dismantling the MC and booster.
The fluid I wiped off the bottom of the booster is almost certainly oil. The Pentosin brake fluid seems darker in color, this was yellow/brown like oil. Edit: duh, my motor oil would probably be black as it’s not fresh, so it must be brake fluid.
