help me diagnose my failed clutch hydraulic system Posted by Ran When Parked [Email] (#2710) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ran When Parked) on Sun, 4 Oct 2020 18:22:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have driven about 30 miles since Bernie and SWEDECAR set me straight on my brake installation goof. Was celebrating the triumph with a quick drive around the neighborhood, and tragedy struck! The first shift into reverse was normal. Subsequent shifts engaged lower and lower, and I pulled the pedal back up with my toe once or twice. By about the sixth shift, the clutch pedal was flat on the floor and I was stuck in third gear.
Back in the driveway, stalled it to stop. No obvious leak, viewed from under the hood. The fluid reservoir is still full.
Hose? Master cylinder? Slave cylinder? What's your best guess?
If I don't see an obvious leak from the hose, is any diagnosis feasible, or do I just replace the master cylinder because it's cheaper and easy compared to the slave?
