Ignition Lock cylinder stuck Posted by thomas333639 [Email] (#1880) [Profile/Gallery] (more from thomas333639) on Thu, 28 Jan 2021 12:50:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm still having a problem with removing the ignition lock cylinder in my 2001 9-3 SE (320,000 miles).
I have tried all of the suggestions about using dry lube, jiggling the key in it hundreds of times, using my other key, etc. It will not turn from Lock to Off. If i could do that, I could remove the cylinder.
Questions:
Is it possible that the electrical portion of the ignition switch, into which the lock cylinder fits, is preventing it from turning? (the batteries in the keys are fine - the keys operate all of the door locks and the hatch lock)
Can i just pry out the center portion of the lock cylinder (I have a replacement lock cylinder)?
Please assist.
T.
