Correct Idle speed???
Posted by P Bettis [Email] (more from P Bettis) on Mon, 5 Apr 2021 06:05:49
My 1996 NG900 convertible appears to have a higher idle speed than normal. At cold start its higher as you would expect, maybe 1500. But even after several minutes of driving its still slightly over 1000 RPM and takes a few seconds to settle to this speed when stopping at a light or stop sign. Out of the six Saabs I've owned this is the only one that I remember this happening. Other than the idle speed it runs great. It's a five speed so it makes the launch pretty easy. Maybe the mass air flow sensor is going south. No check engine lights are on. Tell me what you think.
