Ignition switch replaced. Now no 5th gear or reverse Posted by crawdad [Email] (#1867) [Profile/Gallery] (more from crawdad) on Fri, 11 Jun 2021 17:32:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |

Hey Everyone,
I pulled the shifter housing with rod out of the car and replaced the switch but, after the shifter alignment, I can not engage 5th gear or reverse and in neutral, the stick snaps way over to the left. When the shift rod is loosened from the clamp, I can get into the reverse position and remove the key.
Two notes: I did not remove any parts inside the housing; I just loosened the screw until I could remove the switch then tried to get it level with the housing shoulder mentioned in WIS.
In a 2009 post, Swedecar mentioned a "self centering device" in the transmission and now I wonder if I may have messed that up somehow. Any ideas?
Thanks!
