It really is very much a personal taste - Koni's are (I think all models) adjustable from street to track. Bilsteins are not, their theory being that their design is superior, and that Bilsteins can handle any circumstance optimally without adjustment... Personally, on any car I have driven with both different brands, I preferred Bilsteins, and I've had them on two cars I've owned. Bilstein claim to be 98% effective after 100,000 miles. They had gone 40,000 miles on my last car when I sold it, and they were as good as they day I installed them. Bilstein also come in three different models - standard, sport and Heavy Duty. Unless you race the car or drive on a pool table smooth road, you do not want HD. Whether you pick standard or sport is another choice... even the standard Bilsteins will be stiffer than the stock ( I believe Boge/Sachs ) on your 900. One thing to take into consideration is the road conditions in your area - if you are in the Northeast or an area that gets hammered with potholes/broken surfaces, you will definitley want to maintain a good ride. Another thing with Bilsteins is that in very cold weather (<40 F) they take a while to warm up in the morning, and they produce a bit more road noise and ride harder than usual until they do (this will pass in about 5-10 miles). It will likely be less of a problem if you keep the car garaged. I am currently trying to decide on replacement shocks for my 9000 CS - I'm leaning toward the standard Bilsteins, but because I drive on so many poorly-surfaced roads, I'm not ruling out replacing the stock Sachs/Boge struts with the stock items. If at all possible, I would try driving cars equipped with both types, that way you will know exactly what you are getting yourself into. I am assuming you will want to retain the stock springs; if you do, then drive only cars that have stock springs, because sport springs will take the car into another world...
