I did not know that toes were getting stepped on.... sorry if I came across improperly.
As long as you are going to the trouble to bash metal, I wanted to put some issues out for consideration.
Very time there is a bend, the flow is disturbed and there are losses. So there is a trade off between the best location and the pressure losses, and expenses, to get plumbed to any location.
Entrance and exit losses are a major concern. With the cone filter, those are elimiated from concern. This is a great help. But the cone filter needs to be located outside of the engine bay. Some have dropped a tube below the fender, thru the hole that you see when the filter box is removed. This is close to ideal, but you have to remove lower panels etc to change or inspect the filter. Driving through deep water is not an option....
I have thought about running from the turbo compressors cast elbow through an opening cut into plastic shroud to the right of the rad, and locating a filter in front of the rad. I have not done any space claim or detailed studies at all. That would be a good location and be a short route as well.
I have access to a shop that does laser burning of stainless and had automated panel benders etc. But they don't do tube or round sections. I guess that I have not been motivated to get beyond the dreaming stage on this and other items. Life had other demands...
