I don't know if my '95 SET is any worse than my '89 SHO, but it ain't any better. The clutches on the SHO did me in, as well as the body integrity. If Ford had half a brain, they would have put that Yamaha engine in every Taurus made. I still don't think there is an engine made that would touch it. For those of you who have never driven one, imagine a Saab 2.0 turbo, with 40 more horses, and NO turbo lag. Bullet proof reliability. Trans and shifter were slightly better than the Saab. As my Saab nears 125K, I'm faced with a difficult decision; keep putting money into the Saab, or trade it on something less (two kids in college; can't afford a new one). I was close to changing to a Subaru, and just couldn't pull the trigger.
Peace, Dennis
