That is not true, but it's the standpoint of many dealers so that they don't have to deal with it.

A paper have been sent out by Richard Miller ( Technical Services Quality Manager) to all Saab dealers,Saab service managers,Saab parts Managers and Saab Warranty Administrators informing them of the importance of inspecting the tensioner. And that the old timingbelt partnumber 4621348 is superseeded with the partnumber 4773842 for the whole kit.

The kit only needs to be installed once, and thereafter only the belt every 60K miles. And it's covered under Warranty if done at 35,65 and 95K service.



On 97 V6 the new tensioner is already installed.
