I posted a couple days ago about rust touchups and got some good advice about using a spray can instead of the touchup paint brush. So I took off the gas door and started trudging around town trying to get someone to match the paint. After a few places and re-recommendations, I found a place that would be willing to do a match and put it into a spray can - but for a total cost of about $120. They recommended going to the dealer to see if they have a spray can mixed up.
So the local Saab dealer here in Ann Arbor said they only carry the brush-on sludge, and because of "EPA blah blah blah", they can't bottle up the spray cans of the touch-up paint anymore.
StephenZ on this BB recommended investing in an airbrush. Does anyone know if I can just use the standard touch-up paint from the little container with an airbrush? Should I look for a higher quantity, considering how expensive the little thing is? And how about the clear coat when I'm done? I'm assuming I should airbrush that on as well?
Man, this project is getting big. Shoulda left those rust specks alone.
