I've had some luck with little chips and dings using the little bottle of touchup paint. The trick is to not sand things out and to make the repainted area as small as possible. If you have some rust then you will have to first clean it out with a pin or small knife end point. Apply the touchup paint over the area making sure it's higher than the surface but just covers the existing hole. Now here's the trick. After drying for about a day you can work the paint blob back to the surface level by doing the following. Wrap a laquer soaked piece of cloth over a small sanding block and start rubbing the paint blob. It will slowly dissolve on to the cloth with some light rubbing. Re-apply laquer thinner to the cloth as needed. After you get the paint blended in, a small dab of clearcoat will seal things up.
