I had my 99 painted and the painter siad he used almost no body filler. He was a true professional in every sense of the word. Like Champion, he didn't believe in putty. He used lead but pretty much old frashioned hammer and dolly not umlike paintless ding repair. He said body filler was a amateur way of doing repair work. He was also bent on cutting rust out and not grinding/filling.
When I pulled that black 99 Turbo out and drove her, I received endless compliments. I passed that gentlemen card out countless times as people continually asked who? who? who?
I admire a professional who takes pride in his or her work. His or her money may be slow in the begining but will triple in the longrun compared to a cheap, quick and dirty job. I once had a 79EMS that was painted, and one day I took out the windsheild wiper resevoir, and was shock to find newspaper used as body filler. Needless to say the chunks of putty fell out soon after. This same gut used hangers to weld body panels!!!
