Same B.S. for Saturn.... Saturn lost a ton of money too it's first years. Saturns would just become another GM car. None of that has occured. Saturn has retained it's own identity and autonomy and prospered. The president of Saturn, Skip LaFauve, was put in charge of GM small car operations. Either GM was taking over Saturn, or the version I still prefer, Saturn was taking over at GM! Saturn was the test mule for the L850 engine which in highly modified turbocharged form is found in Saabs. Subarus and TrailBlazer/Envoys can be lovely cars with a Saab touch. Particularly if that touch extends beyond styling to include the quality we've come to expect in a Saab. Saab has never started with a clean sheet of paper, but has improved other peoples designs and molded them into genuine Saabs. I expect, and I expect that GM, will continue that tradition. I was very worried that the new 9-3SS would slip a notch with all the GM content, but that hasn't been the case, it's a quality Saab through and through.
