I currently live in CT and we STILL can't buy beer in a store on Sunday's, and our cut off time is still 8:00 p.m. I remember being in MA once, looking for particular beers (I am a true beer snaab, and only drink certain choice micro-brewed beers, I've been brewing my own beer for about 8 years now, and am a proud member of the Amer. Assoc. of Home Brewers)and asked where I might find a certain beer. The liquor store guy told me down the road was a good place to go, and I said I better go, I got 10 minutes. He's like for what? I said before they close. He laughed & asked where I was from. When I said CT & that we can't buy beer after 8am, once he stopped rolling on the floor laughing and wiping the tears from his eyes, he called his buddy outta the backroom to laugh at us, too. They said if they ever ATTEMPTED to close at 8pm, they'd have a riot on their hands & the folks would be beating there doors down as they get MOST of their business at 11:50 pm. Hmmm What's up with that in MA?! Midnight lushes??!
Hey, nervousaaber - great taste in beer ya got there. I won 3rd place in a competition a few years with my copy of Anchor Steam beer and in that same competition I took 1st for my Pale Ale - it was a copy of Sierra Nevada. They say pale ale is the hardest beer to brew. Pissed everyone off that I won 1st place in my 1st contest. Ha ha!) I'm currently drinking my copy of "Sierra Nevada" pale ale (it's called Crime Scene Pale Ale as a tribute to my dept. at work. I'm working on my series of "Blue zoo" beers. The last one was Code One IPA.) I haven't brewed a Saab beer yet, and would LOVE suggestions for good Saab beer names.
Cheers!
