are we talking on pavement? I think that question needs to be answered as well.
Late braking only upsets a chassis, especailly since requently the driver slows more than they need to in these situations.
My fastest way through a turn, except for a tight hairpin, is to slow the car adequately to bring the car to almost losing adhesion, the accelerate through the turn. In a hairpin, go in with a bit more speed and let the tail rotate out. (hint: with FWD, pump up the rear tires to around 40 psi before trying this).
I drive a VERY twisty road - with lots of undulations, no less - twice a week for work. Its about 5 miles, maybe 20 or so different bends - and have perfected the above technique.
