Hi Jim,
Sorry you didn't register for the convention. It's going to be a very nice event. How can we expect the Convention Chairman and the staff to be at Hershey setting up the event for 350 cars and 500 people and take alot of last second questions and registrations ? How can they plan an event for a certain number of people if everybody waits until 24 hours prior to the event to meet their needs ??? That's exactly what causes others to be dissappointed, shortage of parking, long lines for food or at the bathroom, etc etc etc. If they plan an event for 500 people and 600 show up, it's going to be very difficult to feed the other 100 or so folks, find parking for another 100 or so folks, make name badges, you get the point. If they plan on maybe another 100 or so walk-ins and they don't show up, we still have a bill to pay. You also can't always use the data from past conventions because other elements such as the Economy, location and weather make the numbers difficult to use. Maybe next year the convention chairman can figure out a way to have the event that offers complete flexablility to meet everybody's desire, needs and wants. From what I've seen so far this years convention is meeting the desires of the majority of the 500++++ people who answered the TSN survey that was on the Board many months ago.
Again, I'm sorry this Convention isn't meeting your availablility or plan, but they are doing the very best with what they had available. There will be the SAAB PARTS Tent (indoors and air conditioned)with the usual 75% savings off SAAB LIST, the host of SAAB Vendors and Sponsers, an Autocross, a Covered Bridge Tour, a Concours and many tech sessions and seminars.
