Ooohh! I stayed at the Hyde Park Hotel about 15 years ago when companies actually sent people to real places! Arrived on a redeye on Sunday morning and was out of it for a few days. Its not far from Picadilly Circus which is the NYC Greenwich Village/Times Square occupied by Monty Python. Relax and have fun. The Brits love Amurricans! Warning though, keep a NY time zone schedule - the pubs would close early and then you can only drink in the hotel lobbies! (This may have changed.)
The locals took me on a drinking (Guiness pints) binge and I ended up in Acton, a working class town outside of London. But everyone treated me great even though I was wearing a suit and tie. Since I was good at pool they welcomed me, I had a great time. Many Triumph motorcycles all over the place, they drive crazy fast there! Look right and keep left! Babes are in short supply though, sorry mates! You will enjoy it!
