although it may be a bit cumbersome, the best way to immobilise your car is to simply remove the fuel pump fuse. On most modern cars the fuse panel is in the car, on my old 9000 it was behing a small plastic door in the glove compartment. The technique is easy: pull into the parking space, put the car in park/reverse(5spd), pull out the fuel pump fuse and wait for the car to shut off/starve off for lack of gas. now take the fuse with you or put it in the ash tray. I highly doubt a theif would ever figure this one out. Of course this doesn't solve the stolen radio problem...
