I now see that your point is simple: the WRX is rubbish. Got it. That makes sense.

I had a similar experience during the holidays when test-driving cars with a friend. Most people we encountered think I'm nuts to be driving a 2002 9-3. I kept hearing things like:
"what an ugly car"
"crappy suspension"
"can't handle turns withou tipping over"
"rough ride"
"primitive dashboard"
"crappy reliability"

Then the comparisons to the A4 and the 325i. I now know where you're coming from.

Truth is, most people would probably judge your 9000 Aero to be a heap of crap too if comparing it to cars of a different class.

I'm not defending the WRX or 9-2X. But I really don't think your comparison makes any sense. It would be like me slamming those who wear Hugo Boss suits that are made in America and sold at Macy's because for similar prices, I would buy two Brooks Brothers suits at an outlet mall and have money for a really distinguished pocket square. Nonsense!
