WD: My judging schedule's pretty busy (http://www.akc.org/dic/judges/search/index.cfm?action=future&judge_num=16324) but I still had time to finish MACH-2 (with placements) on my 11 y/o Sheltie in December in Boston at the Bayside Expo Ctr.
I'm judging out your way on August 8-9 at an AKC trial in Plano. I was there last year and very much enjoyed the venue, but most of all the great people and dogs. Make sure and introduce yourself!
RS: I didn't mean any disrespect for alternative medicine. (I consider any physician who didn't train at Hopkins a practitioner of alt med). It's just that anecdotes as to the efficacy of a visit to Lourdes or treatment with rhino horn are just as valid as stories about reflexology, phrenology, kinesiology, naturopathy, homeopathy, etc.
My Sheltie certainly has had an active, athletic life. I expect to run with him as long as he keeps the bars up. He's currently taking glucosomine/chondroitin as a slow acting anti-arthritis supplement and Deramaxx, a COX-2 inhibitor similar to Celebrex/Vioxx on a PRN basis for post exercise pain. Most importantly, I keep the weight down on my canine athlete.
Anyway, how 'bout them quirky little Saabs?
