Yes, the Chevy Vega defintely deserves its spot on that list. It was certainly the worst car that's ever been in my family. My dad owned one in the early/mid 70's and while I was too young to recall specifics, I think it only lasted a few years (probably not much more than 30k miles) before the engine was toast...and I think door handles and other simple things were always falling off.
My dad likes to refer to it as one of the worst mistakes in general (and certainly the worst car-buying mistake) he ever made--especially since he traded in a BMW 2002 for it, thinking he needed to make the change since us kids were coming along and with all the hype about the Vega...after that car, he's (and I come to think of it) only bought German & Swedish since...fortunately the Vega is the only one on the list that I've had experience with.
