I just came back from my second lasik surgery a few hours ago, and now I'm reading this message. I had my left eye done yesterday, and the right one today. No problems yet, everything seems great.
The doctor said I'm now a little far-sighted (left eye), but it will go a bit (back) towards the minus side in the next few days, and I should have pretty much perfect vision after that. I'll have the final check-up for my right eye tomorrow.
The procedure itself is almost nothing, the worst part is being nervous. If you are very nervous, you can probably get some extra calming medicine. I was given one diapam which I assume they give to everyone.
The only thing that you really feel is when they put in the pain killer drops in your eye (same as in a normal examination), and when they attach the vacuum ring (you feel the pressure). But nothing bad at all.
After it most people get a feeling of having some dirt in their eye, but it's gone after a few hours, or the next morning. Some don't feel a thing. I'm able to use a computer now, so you can see there's not too much of a problem to recover!
Now I feel great. I can see everything clearly (WITHOUT GLASSES!) although my right eye is still a bit blurry after the procedure. I really recommend this, I can see a lot better now, even though one eye hasn't even recovered yet. And as I mentioned, the vision will keep improving within a week.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask here or e-mail me. Hopefully I won't accidentally delete any messages as I get about 100 spams a day to the address I use on boards like this :)
Regards,
Dennis from Finland
PS. Do like I did and ask to see the equipment only after you've done both eyes :)
