I'm with Ian & Zeke on this one. For your car, in your area, I wouldn't consider anything other than M1 15W-50 or Amsoil 20W-50. If you can't stomach that viscosity, then either the M1 5W-40 or Amsoil 5W-40 or 15W-40 would be my next choices.
I agree with you that the Pure Ones are the filters to use.
Since it's been run on dino for most of its life, I'd definitely run at least a single application of Auto-Rx. Use ACDelco filters for this (I think the larger, old-style PF13s should fit, & they'll guarantee you won't clog it up). I'd probably use Rotella syn 5W-40 & run it for a minimum of 4k mi, changing the larger PF13 filter at 2k mi. Auto-Rx recommends using a dino oil, so I think either Delvac or Delo (both 15W-40) would be my choices in that respect. Same answer for the rinse. After that, you're set for whichever premium full syn you choose.
