I want to keep the stable to as few vehicles as I can, so I'd rather put a bit extra into the two cars I have than take on another dependent. But, I frequently think about doing a wild '91/'92 9000 T, with a stripped out interior and Aero spec drivetrain, or an SPG, or an early 911, or maybe getting into a new field with a BMW! I like the raw feel of my 911 (no power windows, mirrors, no a/c, no real heat. The early 2.4 S (1972-73) is very attractive, and decent ones can be had for $15,000. Of course, the really nice ones get silly $$$. I love the look of my S, it's pretty much as 911's were when I was a kid in the '70's and '80's. About the only cosmetic mod. I want to do are 16" Fuchs, Euro-spec ride hight, H4's, and the carrera spoiler. Do you frequent the Pelican board? Definitely a great resource, and very similar to SAABnet. I actually recently bought a '92 9000T parts car, and it turns out the guy I bought it from has 2 911s! One is an early car he's building into an RS replica. I'm in Massachusetts, so there's no shortage of SAABs and Porsches around me.
The early T-Birds are neat cars - I can't believe they sell for such little money. So many cars, such little time!
