Many moons ago I received a ticket in the state of NC on the way home from Florida.
It was about two in the morning and I had a truck playing games. It would pass me and then slow down and I would have to go around it again. So I had enough and took off. Keeping with other traffic (what there was of it that early in the morning) I got nailed.
I received a speeding ticket for doing 78 in a 65.
I never paid it. That was in 90.
I married in 93 and had to change my name on my drivers license. No problems. Four years later another renewel came up. No problems.
Four more years past time for another renewel.
NAILED! would not give me my license until I took care of and oustanding ticket that I received almost 11 years ago.
They had a bench warrant out for me.
I count my self lucky. The original ticket was for $75.00. In the end I paid about $135.00. That included the fed ex.
A friend of mine received a fix it ticket for a head light being out on his motorcycle during bike week in Daytona. He never paid it. When he went for his renewel they yanked his license for 90 days and had to pay a $500.00 fine for a $10.00 fix it ticket.
I live in NH and I am not sure what system they are hooked up to but in the end it did catch up to me.
Good luck!!!!
