If you don't get a straight answer, try another dealer. If you're still doubtful, ask the BB here for confirmation. Although I'm guilty of the same type of thing, it still amuses me that folks including myself are reluctant to ask the source directly to clarify things.
You won't find the incentives listed anywhere because they are incentives to the dealer, non-public, and therefore subtracted from the price before sales tax as opposed to rebates which are public and subtracted after the sales tax is calculated.
Another reason, other than the pre-tax angle of non-public incentives, is that Saab is constantly changing incentives. Saab uses incentives to manage their inventory, often changing them in the middle of month. If the incentives were public Saab would have to stick with them for 60-90 days and they wouldn't have the flexibility and the pre-tax consumer benefits they have now.
The incentives fall into two categories, purchase incentives, IN LIEU of 0% financing, or lease incentives which often and particularly right now include a super low rate. The incentives are seldom the same, purchase or lease, but consistently the the purchase incentive are IN LIEU of the fiancing, 0% for 60 months right now, and the lease incentives are COMBINED with a super low rate.
What's super low? For the unbelievable 24 months programs Saab is promoting now, the lowest is about a 48/100ths percent and the highest is around 2%, and as I said, combined with a generous incentive.
And every model has a different program. For example convertibles don't have any purchase incentive, but they do have 3.9% for sixty months which isn't in lieu of anything. Arc convertibles have a killer lease program. 9-2Xs have 3.9% for 60 months in lieu of a small incentive and the lease program sucks, but in that segment very few lease anyway.
IMHO, a Saab lease is the best overall program for a 9-3 or 9-5 as the lease is incentive AND a low rate, not either or like the 0% financing.
Bottom line: It's all good. If your considering a Saab the deals and the cars are some of the best ever. See your local dealer, pick one out, and ask 'em to lay it on you.
